Hi – I’m Kelly. If you’re watching this, you probably received a pencil in the mail from me.
And not just anyone received one. I personally selected just 30 business owners across rural Wisconsin to send that pencil to – and you were one of them.
I did some homework.
I looked for businesses that are beyond startup…
that have traction…
that are building teams…
and that clearly have a vision for something bigger.
Some of you are B2B – manufacturing, professional services, product-based companies.
Some of you are B2C – but not just small local shops. You’re building something scalable. Something strategic. Something that could outgrow your zip code.
If you’re here, it’s because I believe you’re in that second stage of growth – where things are working… but they could work better.
As I mentioned in the letter, the pencil is a play on words.
A styptic pencil stops bleeding.
A skeptic pencil?
That’s for healthy doubt. As in – you don’t know me (yet) – which is why you’re here now!
And that’s actually a good sign. Serious business owners should be discerning about how they spend their time or money.
Based on the small businesses I have worked with over the years and across the country, I can say that growing a business is a challenge that comes with so many highs and lows.
And growing a business in a rural Wisconsin community comes with unique challenges.
Smaller talent pools.
An aging population.
And often — isolation in decision-making.
And while I’m sure you know other business owners in your town… you can’t always talk freely about your worries or goals because they can impact the whole community
That’s why I am launching the first virtual small business roundtable group for rural business owners. I have been running groups like this for six years and I know the value of these groups.
This new group will connect owners from different rural communities across the state.
You’re not sitting with competitors.
You’re not sitting with someone down the street.
You’re sitting with other owners who understand rural growth — but don’t share your local market.
That combination creates something powerful:
Honest conversations.
Shared lessons.
And Fresh perspective – from those who share your ambition and challenges but not your location.
This peer group is called an Intentional Growth Circle – because that’s what we are focusing on in the monthly meetings – growing your business with intention.
We meet once a month for 90 minutes — virtually.
Six business owners.
Structured discussion.
Real challenges.
Real traction.
No fluff. No networking-for-the-sake-of-networking. No add-on sales from me.
For this founding group, I’m starting with the first six business owners from my short list who decide to move forward.
Six seats. That’s it.
Small by design – to build trust and ensure productive conversations
Once those seats are filled, this circle closes.
I’m intentional about group composition.
Different industries.
Similar growth stage.
Similar ambition.
This group is for owners who are serious about building something sustainable – not just staying busy.
And I selected you because I believe you’d both benefit from – and contribute to – this group
If this resonates, I invite you to schedule a one-on-one conversation with me.
Not to commit.
Just to explore whether this group is the right fit for you – and whether you’re the right fit for the group.
If you’re curious, don’t wait too long. There are only six founding seats.
Oh, and keep the pencil
Use it to write down one decision you’ve been carrying alone.
Then ask yourself – would it help to think that through with five other growth-minded rural business owners who aren’t in your backyard?
If the answer might be yes… I’d love to talk.
